My teachers gave me much more than just the ability to play an instrument. They showed me what music is. But the music opened me to a whole new world.
Music is a big part of my life. I am playing in orchestras all over Switzerland, chamber music, and solo concerts. Despite my three finished master's degrees and several postgraduates, I am expanding my horizons not only in classical music but also in other styles of music. For me as a teacher is important to stay open-minded.
I am equally enjoying teaching all ages. My youngest student is 4 years old and my oldest is over 80. There are different ways of teaching but the purpose is always the same - music.
At the moment I am teaching private but I am often in different music schools as a substituent.
In my private class, when the student is ready, I organize chamber music lessons (ensemble). My students learn how to listen to each other, how to play together, and how can they make music as a team. These qualities are not only in chamber music but are in everyday life important, don't you think?
Today I have a small studio that is next to Kannenfeldplatz/Burgfelderplatz (Basel). I am happy if my students can come there because I have my all materials there and we can do many fun things (by learning) but I have some students that due to different reasons cannot make it to the studio and I come to their homes. It doesn't affect the quality of the lesson but I prefer the studio for several reasons:
- not always have enough time to go somewhere
- for some students (especially small ones) it is better to abstract themselves from the home environment
- since I have the studio I would like to give it a proper use.
But as I said I stay flexible (time and place), so there is always room for discussion.

Depending on the request of the student I adjust my teaching program. But there are things that I teach every student the same:
- solfeggio/music theory
- rhythm
- technique
- improvisation/imagination development
- detailed work on the piece
Pay attention that every cello student in my class will study the basics of the piano. The piano is an important instrument and helps a lot in understanding at least the theory. There is no additional price to that, it is included in my lessons.

Meine Lehrer gaben mir viel mehr als nur die Fähigkeit, ein Instrument zu spielen. Sie haben mir gezeigt, was Musik ist. Aber die Musik hat mir eine ganz neue Welt eröffnet.
Musik ist ein wichtiger Teil meines Lebens. Ich spiele in Orchestern in der ganzen Schweiz, in der Kammermusik und in Solokonzerten. Trotz meiner drei abgeschlossenen Masterstudien und mehreren Nachdiplomstudien erweitere ich meinen Horizont nicht nur in der klassischen Musik, sondern auch in anderen Musikstilen. Für mich als Lehrerin ist es wichtig, aufgeschlossen zu bleiben.
Es macht mir gleichermaßen Spaß, alle Altersgruppen zu unterrichten. Mein jüngster Schüler ist 4 Jahre alt und mein ältester ist über 80. Es gibt verschiedene Arten des Unterrichtens, aber das Ziel ist immer das gleiche - Musik.

In meinem Privatunterricht organisiere ich, wenn der Schüler dazu bereit ist, Kammermusikunterricht (Ensemble). Meine Schüler lernen, wie man aufeinander hört, wie man zusammen spielt und wie man als Team musiziert. Diese Qualitäten sind nicht nur in der Kammermusik, sondern auch im täglichen Leben wichtig, finden Sie nicht auch?
Heute habe ich ein kleines Studio in der Nähe des Kannenfeldplatzes/Burgfelderplatzes (Basel). Ich bin froh, wenn meine Schüler dorthin kommen können, weil ich dort alle meine Materialien habe und wir viele lustige Sachen machen können (zusätzlich zum Lernen), aber ich habe einige Schüler, die es aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht ins Studio schaffen, und ich komme zu ihnen nach Hause. Das beeinträchtigt zwar nicht die Qualität des Unterrichts, aber ich bevorzuge das Studio aus verschiedenen Gründen:
- ich habe nicht immer genug Zeit, um irgendwohin zu gehen
- für einige Schüler (vor allem für die kleinen) ist es besser, sich von der häuslichen Umgebung zu lösen
- da ich das Studio habe, möchte ich es auch richtig nutzen.
Aber wie gesagt, ich bleibe flexibel (Zeit und Ort), so dass es immer Raum für Diskussionen gibt.

Je nach den Wünschen des Schülers passe ich mein Unterrichtsprogramm an. Aber es gibt Dinge, die ich jedem Schüler gleich beibringe:
- Solfeggio/Musiktheorie
- Rhythmus
- Technik
- Improvisation/Imaginationsentwicklung
- detaillierte Arbeit am Stück
Achten Sie darauf, dass jeder Celloschüler in meiner Klasse die Grundlagen des Klaviers lernt. Das Klavier ist ein wichtiges Instrument und hilft sehr dabei, zumindest die Theorie zu verstehen. Das kostet keinen Aufpreis, sondern ist in meinem Unterricht enthalten.
